Documentary photography

August 3, 2020

Documentary photography, what's that? Unobtrusive, unposed, uncontrived. Photos taken with no control or direction over the situation. Moments captured in a narrative style. That's what documentary photography is. And I love it! It's the best way to capture genuine and real moments, to document the natural flow of a Wedding day, something I love to do!

I'm often told that the guests didn't realise I was there, which is absolutely perfect for getting these kinds of photos. I don't lug heavy equipment around with me and I use natural light as much as I can, both these things help me be discrete in my photo taking.

Here's a little look through my favourite reportage style images I've taken in my career...
