Cat & Terry

November 14, 2019

Cat and Terry. Dare I say it, the best Wedding I've ever photographed to date? Yes. Now if you're in need of beard inspo, bridesmaid dress ideas or quirky additions to your bridal outfit look no further. I've got you covered. Denim jacket on top of your Wedding dress? Hell yes! Everyone looked class!

When I met Cat for the first time she literally filled the room with light, like sunshine. We laughed loads and she was just a joy to be around. We chatted about her and Terry's relaxed, informal plans focusing on fun, family and just plain love and I think I realised then that this was going to be a brilliant day, and exactly the kind of Wedding I wanted to document.

Cat and Terry married at North Shields registry office and had their reception at The View on Tynemouth beach front. I know right, dreamy location. The registry office is probably one of the best I've been in, so beautifully decorated, and it has a little terrace out the back overlooking the river Tyne. It was the perfect spot for photos! If you've ever been to The View in Tynemouth then you will know that that is the most accurate name for a beachfront restaurant overlooking the sea. Ceiling to floor glass windows, the view is phenomenal.

The plan was after the ceremony to head to Saint Mary's Lighthouse for family photos, and then to The View for the reception and more photos on the beach. Sounds amazing, right? Well the forecast was horrific, and all morning long it poured with rain. I'm all for playing in the rain, but we certainly wouldn't be getting the sunny photos we envisioned. Thankfully, we managed to dodge the rain for the most part, and we only really had to battle the weather at the lighthouse. As you can see from the photos, it was wet windy! But we were all troopers and carried on, and got the shots we wanted.

We managed to have our photos on the beach later. In some frames you'd think we were abroad! Cat and her bridesmaids even decided to run in to the sea (best photos ever), a dog came to visit us mid-portraits, guests paddled, it was so much fun! After the formalities finished we were served a delicious buffet full of carbs (hell yes, more of this please) and then the dancing commenced. Best day ever.

I absolutely adore being at the coast and I loved photographing this Wedding so much. Cat and Terry you were a dream to work with, thank you for being yourselves and thank you for having me!
