Can you imagine my face when Sarah's Wedding enquiry landed in my mail box, telling me she was planning to get married in the grounds of a castle? Well, I was excited to say the least!
Well that castle was Usk castle on the outskirts of Wales, and Sarah and John married there in the height of the Summer heat wave last July. The sun was absolutely beaming for the whole day and there was not a cloud in the sky. Sarah got ready in a lovely little hotel in Abergavenny with her close family and bridal party and there was such a great vibe in the place. The little courtyard out the back was the perfect back drop for some photos of Sarah before she left to get married.
Sarah made her way to the castle grounds in a Mustang with the biggest smile across her face, she was genuinely the happiest Bride I'd ever seen! They married in the Tithe barn next to the castle. It was lit with candlelight and decorated with pretty dried flowers, it felt a world away from the grounds outdoors, it had the most amazing atmosphere!
We had group shots and couple portraits in the grounds before heading off to the reception location, Treadam barn. Treadam was another stunning venue set in the Welsh countryside. Sarah told me she wanted a relaxed and candid atmosphere for the day and she certainly managed to pull that off. Her reception venue of choice had so much outdoor space, and the Summer weather meant everyone could spend time outdoors in between food and the evening reception. I loved that! There were games to play and endless seating for everyone to sit and mingle. It was just a lovely lovely day!
During the first dance, I noticed the sun was setting, and I practically dragged Sarah and John out for sunset photos. It was the best ending to a fabulous Wedding. Thank you Sarah and John for having me photograph your Wedding day, it was truly a brilliant day and I was honoured to document it for you.
